Robbie Williams Leaves Take That

It was a brilliant reunion for Take That – but it was also brief. Gary Barlow yesterday revealed Robbie Williams left the band for the second time after their sellout European tour and is once again concentrating on his solo career. However, it’s not all bad news for fans. Take That will still exist as a four-piece band with Gary, Jason Orange, Mark Owen and Howard Donald. And the X Factor judge did not rule out future reunions.

Gary, who at the weekend was seen in his Los Angeles house picking his team for the talent show with help from Robbie, said the decision to go their separate ways was made before the tour. He told how on the last night in Munich he stood on stage and found himself “wondering if we’ll ever be back as a five again”. Gary added: “We’re all happy. The fans have come along and been happy. Great, great, great, great, great. Now Rob’s doing a solo record, and from this point it’s back to where it was. It ended perfectly. And you know what, we can revisit it whenever we want. He’s our brother, Rob is, and if he’s ever in trouble or he wants to have a year off being Robbie Williams, he’s welcome any time he wants.”
