Jennifer Saunders is being lined up to write a new series of 'Absolutely Fabulous' for 2013. After the comedienne and her co-star Joanna Lumley - who play PR guru Eddy Monsoon and her flamboyant friend Patsy Stone in the BBC One show - returned to screens for the first time in almost seven years for a festive special this Christmas, series chiefs are urging her to pen a new season.
An insider told the Daily Express: "The viewing figures prove it's as popular as ever and there's a real appetite for more episodes. Obviously it's down to Jennifer to write more and getting all the actors together takes some organising. "But the current understanding is there will be another Christmas special for the end of 2012 and then more episodes the following year."
As well as another one-off show already having been filmed - which is due to be screened during the London 2012 Olympics later this year - Jennifer recently revealed she is planning on filming a hotly-anticipated 'Absolutely Fabulous' movie on the French Riviera. She said: "I'm definitely going to do it. I'm aiming to shoot this in a beautiful part of the Riviera. I fancy the South of France in the spring."
