Jennifer Saunders Is Definatley Doing AbFab Movie

Jennifer Saunders has said that she is "definitely doing" an Absolutely Fabulous movie. The 53-year-old confirmed that she is working on a film based on her BBC sitcom, having discussed a plan for Edina and Patsy's first big-screen adventure last month. "Yes, I'm definitely going to do it," Saunders told New York magazine. "I'm aiming to shoot this in a beautiful part of the Riviera. I fancy the south of France in the spring."

The announcement comes after the first of three Absolutely Fabulous specials aired in the UK on Christmas Day. Saunders confessed that her decision to revive the show was sparked by co-star Joanna Lumley's public announcement that Ab Fab would be back. "It was mainly because she announced it that we did it," Saunders explained. "She said, 'Darling, I told them in New York that you're going to do a few more'. I said, 'Oh, well, got to tell the BBC'."

The second Absolutely Fabulous special will air on New Year's Day, with the final new episode airing later in 2012.

Michael Jackson's Thriller Named Greatest Music Video

Michael Jackson's groundbreaking Thriller has been named the greatest video of all time by musicians, almost three decades after it was created. The creepy film, which sees the late singer transformed into both a werewolf and a zombie, narrowly beat Lady Gaga's raunchy Telephone in the poll.

Another vintage promo - Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, which dates back to 1975 - was third in the vote by musicians' website musicradar.com.

Thriller, made by John Landis, the director of An American Werewolf In London, is credited with turning pop videos into an art form of their own. The 14-minute film was the most expensive of its day, when it was first shown in 1983, and cost half a million dollars to create.

Lady Gaga's violent Telephone is another epic, weighing in at nine minutes and was created by Jonas Akerlund, who was behind Prodigy's controversial Smack My Bitch Up, which is seventh in the list. Will Groves, editor-in-chief of MusicRadar, said: "Lady Gaga ran Thriller very close, but it still seems right that the promo that saw the birth of the pop video as a cultural event should hold the top spot - for now."

Mick Hucknall - Happy This Christmas

Thought I should post something Christmas related, so here is Mick Hucknall's new single 'Happy This Christmas'.

George Michael Is Home For Christmas

George Michael is heading home for Christmas after a remarkable recovery in his battle with pneumonia. Within the next few days the superstar singer is set to be discharged from the hospital in Austria where he has been treated for the past month. And he will head straight for his London home in time to enjoy Christmas Day there.

Medics initially feared the Careless Whisper singer would need to stay in hospital for months. George’s boyfriend Fadi Fawaz has been at the star’s bedside throughout his ordeal. He revealed that the singer, who had hits such as Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go with Wham! before going solo, has been given the all-clear to leave.

Writing on Twitter, Fadi, 38, said: “Christmas at home. I cannot stop smiling today, the best day ever. He is getting better and better. Nothing to worry about, happy days.”

George, 48, was rushed to the private hospital on November 20 after he fell ill at Vienna’s exclusive Imperial Hotel, where he was staying ahead of a concert. He was later diagnosed with severe pneumonia. The star, who has sold more than 25 million albums worldwide, was forced to cancel the 14 British gigs that would have made up the final leg of his Symphonica European tour. As well as Fadi keeping a bedside vigil, George’s father Kyriacos Panayiotou, 75, and his sisters Melanie, 49, and Yioda, 53, also flew over to Austria to be with him.

George is set to make his first public appearence outside his home on Friday.

Prometheus - Trailer

At last a new Alien movie is coming to the big screen. Set before the 1979 'Alien', this prequel looks at the start of the alien lifeforms and how they came about and the planet that contained them. With no mention or set up to previously seen characters (such as Sigorney Weaver) this movie is purely about the aliens and their start. Directed by the original creator of the Alien franchise, Ridley Scott. Hopefully this will mean more original films and no more naff Alien Vs. Predator movies.

Rihanna shot the video for 'You Da One' in London earlier this month and is also expected to feature scenes shot in Ireland . Justin Bieber - Christmas In Washington

Here is Justin Bieber's performance from Christmas in Washington.

Justin Bieber Donates $100,000 To School

Teenage pop sensation Justin Bieber made good on his promise to Whitney Elementary School on Friday. Last month, the 17-year-old star pledged a special Christmas concert and $100,000 to the east Las Vegas elementary school nationally-renowned for providing its needy students and families with food, clothing, health services and the occasional rent check.

On Friday, Bieber signed the $100,000 personal check after performing hit singles from his new Christmas album, “Under the Mistletoe,” for 650 students in the school’s multipurpose room. To top off the private concert, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” also donated an additional $100,000 in toys — one for every child – for the holidays. “It was so wonderful and meaningful. He gave them memories no one could ever take away,” said Principal Sherrie Gahn. “They had the best Christmas present.”

Earlier in the day, the pop icon toured the school, popping into classrooms to visit with excited students, Gahn said. He signed autographs, answered students’ questions and shared with them his personal childhood struggles of being raised by a single mother in low-income housing and having to rely on food banks. “It’s great he made that connection with our students,” Gahn said, tears welling in her eyes. Most of her students are poor, many of them homeless, she added.

Over the years, Whitney has become more than just a school for its 610 students and their families, providing the services and help to its recession-ravaged community. For students, Whitney is a place to receive free haircuts, dental care and eye glasses. It’s where families can get food, clothing and school supplies. It’s where parents can learn to read and get help if they fall behind on their rent. “These kids are always in crisis and survival mode,” Gahn said. “If I can feed and clothe them, it takes a lot off their plate. … If I didn’t, these kids would be on the street.”

Gahn’s selfless efforts to help her student garnered national publicity from CNN to CBS News. In September, Gahn’s inspirational story caught the attention of the Ellen show, which decided to feature Whitney Elementary in its ninth season premiere. During a taping for that show, Ellen DeGeneres presented what has become the first of several big donations to Whitney this year: a $100,000 check from Target. After the Ellen episode aired, hundreds of donations started pouring into the school from across the nation. The outpouring of support overwhelmed Gahn. “It tells a lot about the human spirit that there are so many people out there who really want to help,” she said. “Since Ellen adopted us … I worry a little less (about providing for students).”

In late October, DeGeneres decided to check in with Whitney during a taping with Bieber. After hearing about all the services Whitney provides its students, Bieber made a surprise announcement: He wanted to match Target’s $100,000 donation and stage a Christmas concert for the kids. The students were ecstatic, Gahn said. They couldn’t believe Bieber was going to perform at their school, she said. Word soon got out to generous corporate donors. In the last month, Hewlett Packard pledged to donate $100,000 in new computer equipment for the school. On another episode of the Ellen show, Target stepped up again and announced a $200,000 school library makeover. And individual donations from local businesses such as Snap Towing kept streaming in.

All in all, Whitney has received more than $1 million in the last several months, Gahn estimated. It was an early Christmas gift she said she could never have imagined when she first stepped foot on campus eight years ago. “It’s very, very surreal,” she said. “This has been phenomenal.” A few dozen Bieber fans waited patiently outside the school Friday afternoon, waiting eagerly for a glimpse of the famous pop star. Shortly after 2 p.m., Bieber arrived in a black SUV and briefly greeted fans, said Clark County School District spokesman Michael Rodriguez.

By 4 p.m. when the concert ended, the crowd had swelled to more than a hundred parents, teenagers and curious onlookers. Many careened their necks, cameraphones in hand as they waited for Bieber to emerge. Green Valley High School seniors Raluca Iclodean, 18, and Jori Buckland, 17, heard from a friend about the Bieber concert halfway through the event. They jumped into Iclodean’s car, and he floored the gas pedal. The self-proclaimed Bieber fans drove 20 minutes from Henderson to the east Las Vegas elementary school just in time to see Bieber driving away in his tinted SUV. “I just wanted to see him,” said Iclodean, who started listening to the Canadian singer when he was 13. “He’s so beautiful.” Buckland nodded her head. “It’s a great thing he’s doing, using his fame for positive things.”

Rosie Metlow waited in the cold for her granddaughter Amber, a Whitney kindergartner who was also celebrating her sixth birthday on Friday. In anticipation for Friday’s concert, Amber has been listening to Bieber’s songs seemingly nonstop, she said. “She was so happy,” Metlow said, beaming. “It’s the biggest birthday present she got.” Ticia Ledwon — who was waiting next to Metlow for her 6-year-old daughter Autumn — was thankful for all the donations the school has received this year. “How could we ever repay someone for this?” she asked. “Justin Bieber donated his time so (students) can get to see him in person. So many people could have just written a check. It makes me cry.”

After the concert, hundreds of smiling students began streaming out of the school, large boxes of toys in tow. Kynedi Harris, 10, wearing a sparkly Bieber T-shirt, gave a big smile to her mother as she walked out of the school. “He actually came through for us,” Harris said. “He gave us money and presents. He’s a helpful and sweet guy.”

Madonna Signs New Record Deal

As Madonna inches closer to the release of her in-the-works album, a report has surfaced that the Queen of Pop has signed a deal with Interscope Records, making her labelmates with music superstars like Lady Gaga and Eminem.

The report first appeared in the New York Post early Wednesday (December 14), and a source confirmed the deal to Billboard. Madonna will reportedly work with the label on three records for $1 million each. Reps for the singer and the label had not responded to MTV News' requests for comment by press time.

Madonna will also remain with Live Nation, with whom she signed a deal in 2007. Currently she has a 10-year "360 deal" worth upward of $100 million that covers touring and merchandise. Live Nation CEO Irving Azoff hinted back in February that a merger could happen for the star sometime this year. Live Nation always had intended to partner with a record label for the release of Madge's next album.

"Live Nation, prior to the merger, entered into some of these all-rights deals, so there are certain artists, Madonna being one of them, that there is a recorded-music strategy," Azoff said. "Once she gets the album recorded, we'll sit down with her and her manager, Guy Oseary, and figure out what's best for the record. It has to start with the music."

A source tells the New York Post, "It's just about keeping relevance so that she can tour. She is still in the demo phase, but the idea is to get the first album out early next year."

Madonna is expected to drop her highly anticipated album this spring. In February, she'll not only release her film "W.E.," but she's also slated to take the stage during the Super Bowl halftime show.

She just shot the video for her song "Give Me All Your Love," which features Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. The shoot made headlines when Nicki tweeted about kissing Madonna on the set of the clip, directed by the Megaforce.

Ok I am not sure if I like this or not. The opening is very weird and I can't work out if it is sung bad or just arranged bad. However once the song kicks in it is actually ok.

Best Albums Of 2011

Adele - 21

The biggest selling album of 2011, made by the nicest most unaffected pop star on the planet. 21 delivered everyday heartache in both ballad and barnstormer form, sung with a voice capable of reducing all of us to a wibbling, snot-nosed mess. Sheer class.

Beyonce - 4

I wasn't sure about this the first time I heard it but now it's definitely one of my favourites of the year. With a more grown up sound than we're use to, Beyoncé stayed away from the safe, familiar sounds a lot of mainstream artists are choosing at the moment, went wild with Diplo for Run the World and stamped her empowering style all over it. With ballads pulled from the core of her heart, faster tracks to evoke the good times, and some perfectly judged mid-tempo tunes, this is a wonderful coming-of-age record from mum-to-be B.

Jessie J - Who You Are

Marmite for many perhaps, but I've been loving the 'ghetto pop' and more emotional songs served up on Who You Are, the biggest-selling debut album of the year. Jessie J takes you on an emotional rollercoaster, being brash and ballsy, comedic, and hater-targeting, then vulnerable, philosophical and deeply emotional. Great pop songwriting, powerful diva-esque vocal styling and tons of character perfectly complement the world-class production. She was voted top in the Sound Of poll at the beginning of the year and she ended it on top too. Nice one, Jessie.

Lady Gaga - Born This Way

Don't be fooled by the outfits and silly stage shenanigans, Gaga is one of the greatest artists of our time. From thumping euro-dance to country-tinged tunes and heartfelt ballads, she brings her own special brand of kook and laces it with emotion and killer beats on sophomore album Born This Way which, in my opinion, cements her position as the modern Queen of Pop. There are still parts of the album that make you go 'WTF?!' but that's part of the appeal: pure entertainment which leaves everyone wanting more.

Rebecca Ferguson - Heaven

In their decade-long dominance of popular culture, TV talent shows have unearthed a couple of exceptional singing voices and made stars of a lucky few. With Rebecca Ferguson, who co-wrote every track on this astonishingly accomplished debut, they've finally found an artist. Although only released a few weeks ago, the album has made such an impression already it can stand along side any other album of the year.

James Cameron Sued Over Avatar Plot

It’s been two years since Avatar premiered in theaters, but now an unhappy sci-fi fan is claiming director James Cameron’s movie was not his original idea. E! News reported one of Cameron’s former employees is claiming he came up with the film’s "environmentally themed 3-D epic about a corporation's colonization and plundering of a distant moon's lush and wondrous natural setting” plotline and is now suing the director.

New York Daily News reported the lawsuit was filed in L.A. County Superior Court Friday by Eric Ryder, who claims he originated the plot in a film called KRZ 2068, which he says he pitched to Cameron’s production company in 1999. He also claims the "self-contained robotic exterior suits which house a single human operator" worn by Stephen Lang in the film was his idea. However, Cameron has previously said that he came up with his movie’s plot in the early ‘90s, but couldn’t work on it until the 2000s because the special-effects technology was unavailable.

He’s also said that he made the film because the environmental issues behind it were “personally important to me. It's not like the studio said, 'Jim we want you to make a movie about the environment.' No....They said, 'We really like the big epic science fiction story, but is there any way we can get this tree-hugging crap out of it?'” Wonder why it took Ryder so long to file the suit.

New Dark Knight Poster Released

Though we'll have to wait a little while longer to see the new trailer for The Dark Knight Rises, the 2012 summer blockbuster's new poster has us a little worried for the Caped Crusader. The teaser poster, released last night, doesn't actually feature Batman at all and instead focuses on the hulking villain Bane, played by Inception star Tom Hardy. However, the line 'The Legend Ends', not to mention the sight of a cracked Batman mask all look pretty ominous to us.

The character of Bane, who will be the principal villain in director Christopher Nolan's trilogy-closing outing, is famous in comic book circles for a storyline which he breaks Batman's back. After Nolan confirmed to Empire Magazine that The Dark Knight Rises will be set a whopping nine years after the events of The Dark Knight, anecdotal evidence is popping up that Christian Bale's character may not survive this blockbuster unscathed.

The sequel to the billion dollar-grossing The Dark Knight hits cinemas on July 20, 2012, while a six minute IMAX-only prologue on the character of Bane will accompany screenings of the upcoming Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.

Man Dies On The Set Of Dark Knight Rises

Tragedy struck the set of Batman movie The Dark Knight Rises in New York when an extra died during a break from filming. The unnamed man was involved in a shoot near Wall Street last month when he suffered a heart attack. He was rushed to hospital but later pronounced dead.

A spokesman for Warner Bros. tells New York Post gossip column Page Six, "The studio can confirm that a male extra passed away while on a break during an off-set crowd rehearsal for a sequence with several hundred extras... Production fully co-operated with the authorities' investigation, which established that he died of natural causes."

The Dark Knight Rises, starring Christian Bale as the Caped Crusader, is due for release next year.

Transformers 4 WILL happen!

Great news, "Transformers" fans! The man who brought the robots in disguise to the live-action big screen is in final discussions to helm the fourth installment of the franchise. Sources close to Michael Bay say an official announcement could come as early as next week.

Those sources caution Vulture that Bay and Paramount do "not have a closed deal." Apparently negotiations largely hinge on whether he can complete his upcoming film "Pain and Gain" any time soon. If this "Transformers" deal is made, Vulture says Bay will probably start filming "Pain and Gain" as soon as early spring and then will switch into "Transformers" mode by winter 2012.

This next film is rumored to be "definitely not a prequel" and will "delve deeper into the 'Transformers' canon to mine older characters and lore." Sounds like our 10 obscure "Transformers" characters might have a chance after all. The success of the inclusion of Sentinel Prime in "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" is said to have triggered this decision.

Rumors earlier this year suggested Jason Statham might replace Shia Labeouf in the newest "Transformers" installment. He denied the rumors, but we still probably won't see Labeouf return for a fourth flick. He's long been saying that he would not return for more sequels.

Mental News - Earth Twin Called Kepler 22b

Scientists have confirmed the existence of an Earth-like planet orbiting a star similar to the sun 600 light years away. Kepler-22b is the planet most akin to our own ever discovered and has a radius that is roughly 2.4 times that of Earth. The planet is positioned in the "habitable zone" of a star - in a 290-day orbit - which means water could exist on its surface. If the atmosphere of Kepler-22b is similar to that of Earth, its temperature would be about 22C.

Scientists do not yet know if Kepler-22b is predominantly made up of rock, liquid or gas, but say its discovery is a step closer to finding Earth-like planets. "This is a major milestone on the road to finding Earth's twin," said Douglas Hudgins, Kepler program scientist at Nasa headquarters in Washington. "Kepler's results continue to demonstrate the importance of NASA's science missions, which aim to answer some of the biggest questions about our place in the universe."

Nasa's Kepler mission has discovered more than 1,000 new planet candidates, ten of which are near Earth-size and orbit in the habitable zone of their host star. These discoveries need to be observed further to determine if they are actual planets. Natalie Batalha, Kepler deputy science team lead at San Jose State University in California, said: "The tremendous growth in the number of Earth-size candidates tells us that we're honing in on the planets Kepler was designed to detect: those that are not only Earth-size, but also are potentially habitable. The more data we collect, the keener our eye for finding the smallest planets out at longer orbital periods."

The Kepler telescope discovers planet candidates by measuring dips in the brightness of more than 150,000 stars, which is seen as an indication of a planet transiting in front of a host star. It requires at least three transits to verify a candidate as a planet. Fortune smiled upon us with the detection of this planet," said William Borucki, who led the team that discovered Kepler-22b. "The first transit was captured just three days after we declared the spacecraft operationally ready. We witnessed the defining third transit over the 2010 holiday season."

24: The Movie Confirmed

The big screen version of 24 is set to begin filming in April 2012, it has been confirmed. A movie version of the Fox's long-running action drama has been in development since the end of the eighth and final season last year. Now, Die Hard 4 screenwriter Mark Bomback is said to be completing the latest script draft by the end of the year.

The movie will go into production in the spring to coincide with star Kiefer Sutherland's next available dates, according to Deadline. The film will once again see Sutherland reprise his role as counter-terrorist agent Jack Bauer. Fox are apparently looking at five directors under the leadership of producer Brian Grazer, who recently stepped in as producer of next year’s Oscars following the departure of Brett Ratner.

Speculation has been rife over what form a 24 movie will take, since the television show's conceit was that each series took place in a real time over a 24-hour period. Sutherland himself said recently: "Trying to condense that into a two-hour film version has been a real shift in gear for us. We were originally trying to make it too big and put too much into it - but once we relaxed, we found out how to tell that story. So yes we definitely do plan on making the film."

Lady Gaga Plans 450 Date Tour

Lady GaGa is reportedly planning a record-breaking world tour. The singer wants to break U2's record for the highest grossing and most attended tour of all time with a two-year, 450-date jaunt across the globe. Gaga and her team hope to better previous tours from the likes of Michael Jackson and The Rolling Stones, according to The Sun.

A source said: "The Haus Of Gaga is taking things up a gear. "She is planning to kick things off in Asia and India next year and go on a gruelling world tour. "As is always the case with Gaga, the plans came to her in her sleep. She has a target of 450 dates. It has never been done before, but she doesn't think that's a reason not to try."

GaGa has started work on the show's design with the team behind Take That's 'Circus' and 'Progress Live' tours. Her recent 'Monster Ball Tour' became the highest-grossing tour by a debut headlining artist. It was recently confirmed that GaGa has started work on her new album, the follow-up to Born This Way.
