Here is a list of what I consider the best movies of 2012.
5. Prometheus
While it was far from being as good as the original 'Alien' franchise, it became a film in its own right away from 'Alien'. While answering 20 year old questions from the 'Alien' saga, 'Prometheus' starts a new series of movies which look set to be amazing.
4. Avengers Assemble
Avengers contained everything you could want from a superhero movie. Action, cheesey one liners and special effects. While the story was a little simple it still held its own and created a whole new universe which will likely continue very soon with a sequel.
3. The Hunger Games
Having never read the books this was completely new to me. With a brilliant cast and interesting story, 'Hunger Games' is number three.
2. Skyfall
Bond's 23rd outing is definatley one of his best. With shocking twists and amazing cast, 'Skyfall' comes in at number 2.
1. The Dark Knight Rises
Nolan's conclusion to his Batman saga is number one. With amazing characters such as Bane and an interesting twist on the Batman world, 'The Dark Knight Rises' gave a fitting ending to the franchise.
