George Michael In Australian Rehab
George Michael has recently returned to the UK after reportedly spending two months in an Australian rehab clinic.
The 'Faith' singer checked into the £27,000-a-week centre's luxurious Sanctuary for a two month stay in February to be treated for emotional anxiety and other issues, reports The Sun.
According to the Metro, Michael's boyfriend Fadi Fawaz denied reports that he was staying with the singer in one of the clinic's villas saying he was in Australia to visit his mother who lives in Queensland.
Last September, George Michael pulled his Australian tour citing "major anxiety" as the cause for the cancellation. At the time, he wrote: "By way of explanation all I can say at this time is that since last year's illness I have tried in vain to work my way through the trauma that the doctors who saved my life warned me I would experience.
"They recommended complete rest and the type of post traumatic counselling which is available in cases like mine but I'm afraid I believed (wrongly) that making music and getting out there to perform for the audiences that bring me such joy would be therapy enough in itself."
He continued: "Unfortunately I seriously underestimated how difficult this year would be and although I was right to believe that the shows would bring me great happiness and that my voice would recover completely (I truly think that some of my recent performances have been my best ever) I was wrong to think I could work my way through the major anxiety that has plagued me since I left Austria last December."
Although George Michael performed at the Olympic Closing Ceremony and performed a handful of October UK dates, there has been few sightings of the singer since. His Twitter page hasn't been updated since January 25.
