Enrique Iglesias - I Like How It Feels - Music Video

While I am not a fan of Enrique's new single, the video is very good. The song isn't bad, it just doesn't do much. The video features Nicole Scherzinger, Pitbull and Eva Longeria.

Enrique Iglesias & Jennifer Lopez - Mouth2Mouth

Here is another new song from Enrique Iglesias, this time featuring Jennifer Lopez, called 'Mouth2Mouth'.

Adele - Someone Like You - Official Music Video

Adele has finally released a music video for her amazing hit single 'Someone Like You'. Up until now only a live version from the Brit Awards and a video filmed live in her home where avaliable.

Christina Perri - Jar Of Hearts

I am really loving this song lately. Its rare that a song has amazing lyrics latley and this song really has. It also has a very good music video.

Michael Jackson Trial Starts

Just days before Michael Jackson died, the alarmed director of his comeback tour confronted Dr. Conrad Murray about the star's health, saying the king of pop was incoherent at times and unable to rehearse. The testimony of Kenny Ortega, the co-director of Jackson's "This Is It" tour, was as startling as the opening statements by the prosecution and Murray's attorney.

Just minutes into his opening, prosecutor David Walgren showed the courtroom of photo of a ghostly Jackson lying dead in a hospital bed, draped by a hospital gown. He also played a tape of conversation with Jackson in which the drugged up singer slurred his words so badly the prosecutors had to run captions on the screen to jurors could understand what Jackson was saying.

Murray's attorney Ed Chernoff, told the court in his opening that Murray isn't to blame for Jackson's death, that Jackson gave himself a dose of of drugs that killed him so quickly that Jackson "didn't even have time to close his eyes."

Murray could face four years in prison if convicted of involuntary manslaughter.

Ortega, the first witness called by the prosecution, said that on June 19, 2009, less than a week before Jackson was found dead from a drug overdose, Jackson arrived at rehearsal unwell. "My friend wasn't right," Ortega said of Jackson. "There was something going on that was deeply troubling me."

Ortega said that Jackson appeared lost and incoherent. He rubbed Jackson's chilled feet and fed him food when it was clear he hadn't eaten.

Ortega was so disturbed by Jackson's state that he sent an email to Randy Phillips of AEG Live, the concert promoter, saying that "real emotional stuff" was going on and that "everything in me says that Jackson should be psychologically evaluated." "There is no one taking responsibility, caring for him on a daily basis…today I was feeding him, wrapping him in blankets…and calling his doctor," Ortega wrote.

He later wrote, "Finally, it's important for everyone to know I believe that he really wants this. It would shatter him, break his heart if we pulled the plug. He's terribly frightened it's all going to go away."

Jackson was preparing for a grueling 50-city comeback tour at the time of his death on June 25, 2009. The tour was his first in over a decade and was of great personal importance. It would be the first time that Jackson's three children would see him perform, Walgren said.

On June 20, 2009, an emergency meeting was called at Jackson's home that included Ortega, Murray and Jackson. Murray grew angry over Ortega's worries about Jackson's health. "He said I should stop trying to be an amateur doctor and psychologist and be the director and allow Michael's health to him," Ortega said.

Prosecutors attempted to use Ortega's testimony to paint Murray as a reckless doctor who was aware of the impact sedatives and the powerful anesthetic propofol were having on his patient. They used the audio message of a drugged Jackson recorded on Murray's phone May 10 to make the same point. Jackson's voice is nearly unrecognizable as he stumbles and talks slowly about the impact he hopes his "This Is It" Tour will have on his reputation.

"We have to be phenomenal... when people leave this show, when people leave my show, I want them to say I've never seen nothing like this in my life. Go. Go . I've never seen nothing like this. Go. It's amazing. He's the greatest entertainer in the world," Jackson mumbles. "I'm taking that money, a million children, children's hospital, the biggest in the world. Michael Jackson's Children's Hospital," Jackson says in the recording.

In addition, Walgren showed a photo of Jackson dancing at the Staples Center the night before he overdosed on propofol and put the picture side by side with a picture of Jackson lying lifeless in a hospital bed.

"What happened between that time and approximately 12 hours later when Michael Jackson is dead on June 25, 2009?" Walgren asked. "What you will learn through the evidence is that what happened during that time frame is that the acts and omissions of Michael Jackson's personal doctor, Conrad Murray, directly led to his premature death at the age of 50."

The packed courtroom included Jackson's family and when the photo of Jackson's corpse was show, Latoya Jackson could be seen passing tissues to Janet Jackson.

Chernoff told the court that Murray isn't to blame for Jackson's death, that Jackson gave himself a lethal dose of of drugs. Murray, in a gray pin striped suit, looked stunned at the evidence compiled against him. He cried when his defense attorney Chernoff, delivered the defense's opening statement.

"While Michael Jackson was frustrated because he could not sleep, frustrated because his doctor refused to give him a drug that he preferred, that he wanted, he did an act without his doctor's knowledge, without his doctor's permission," Chernoff said. The defense claimed that Jackson took a sedative and then a final dose of propofol without his doctor's knowledge. The sedative lorazepam coupled with the propofol created a "perfect sorm in his body that killed him instantly," Chernoff said.

"When Dr. Murray came into the room and found Michael Jackson, there was no CPR, there was no doctor, no paramedic, no machine that was going to revive Michael Jackson. He died so rapidly, so instantly, he didn't even have time to close his eyes," Chernoff said.

The defense contends that Murray had begun trying to wean Jackson off of the propofol in the days before his death. They said that Jackson compartmentalized his life in such a way that Murray was unaware that his client was addicted to demerol. Chernoff said that Jackson had become addicted to demerol from visiting dermatologist Arnold Klein. A side effect of demerol use is an inability to sleep. "It was an absolute, total and thorough inability to sleep. Not for minutes, not for hours. For days," Chernoff said.

"Michael Jackson told Dr. Murray that his insomnia was the result of his mind always racing…it was the genius of him…and perhaps that's partly true…but it was also the demerol," Chernoff said. The prosecution argued that Murray was not forthcoming with detectives and first responders about Jackson's propofol use. They claim that phone records show that Jackson was left unattended while under the drug and that 911 was not called right away when Jackson was first found unresponsive.

"It will be clear that Conrad Murray abandoned Michael when he needed help. It was Conrad Murray's gross negligence, it was Conrad Murray's unskilled hands and his desire to obtain this lucrative contract of $150,000 a month that led Dr. Murray to not only abandon his patient, but to abandon all principles of medical care," said Walgren.

Walgren also showed pictures of Jackson's bedroom to show how medical monitoring devices typically used when someone is under anesthesia were not there or appeared unused. A blood pressure cuff was still in a box and an oxygen tank had no oxygen, Walgren said.

One thing prosecutors aren't expected to do during the trial is call any of Jackson's three kids to the witness stand. However, legal experts said that it doesn't mean the kids might not testify on behalf of defense lawyers. "I think if the prosecution doesn't call one of the kids, then the defense probably will...I don't think it would be a surprise to me to see one or more of those kids testify," said veteran defense attorney Mark Geragos.

The first witness to be called by prosecutors will be Jackson friend and choreographer, Kenny Ortega. Ortega was working with Jackson on his This Is It Tour.

"The prosecutors it seems are going to go chronologically. They are going to start with Ortega who claimed he had warned Murray weeks beforehand that Jackson wasn't well...prosecutors want to show that this was reckless, Murray's conduct, that he behaved in a way that an ordinary person, an ordinary doctor shouldn't behave," said ABC News' legal analyst Dan Abrams.

Abrams said that he thinks there's a good chance that Murray will take the stand in his own defense. "No one is questioning that Dr. Murray administered certain drugs that are extremely controversial...it's not a who done it, it's this technical, legal standard of recklessness...The defense might have to call Dr. Murray in the end," Abrams said.

Pete Burns - Surgery & Old Hits

Pete Burns appeared on the UK's Big Brother TV Show this year and got alot of critisism about his face. Personally I feel it is his face and he is allowed to do what he wants to it I also thought it would be good to post some old 'Dead Or Alive' hits as they can sometimes get forgotten. Also included is a video about his cosmetic surgery.

George Michael - Every Other Lover In The World (Marc Vedo Mix)

This is a remix preview of George Michael's next single 'Every Other Lover In The World' from his next album which he says is the most 'club' music he has done since Wham! and this song proves it. I am loving how he is experimenting with his voice lately. His use of machines to alter his voice is dividing people, but when did George Michael ever do something because other people liked it. His music is what he creates and I can't wait to hear the official single version of this song.

Il Divo - Wiked Game

Il Divo are back for the first time in 3 years. Their new album 'Wicked Game' is released 28th November and will feature 10 brand new tracks. Il Divo premiered the first song from the album, 'Dove L'Amore', in a live performance at the Classical Brit Awards on Sunday 12 May 2011. At the same event Il Divo received the award for 'Artist of the Decade'.

Rihanna - We Found Love - Single Cover And Lyrics

Rihanna's brand new single premieres on Friday and it is from a brand new album which promices to be released this year. The new single, 'We Found Love' features Calvin Harris and the lyrics are below.

We Found Love

Yellow diamonds in the light
And we're standing side by side
As your shadow crosses mine
What it takes to come alive

It's the way I'm feeling I just can't deny
But I've gotta let it go

We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place

Shine a light through an open door
Love and life I will divide
Turn away cause I need you more
Feel the heartbeat in my mind

It's the way I'm feeling I just can't deny
But I've gotta let it go

We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place

REM Split

REM have broken up, after 31 years and 15 albums. They have been one of the all time great rock bands yet it is strangely hard to mourn their passing. The dignified way in which they called it a day, without rancour or dispute, suggests they understood that they were running out of road, or perhaps something even more elusive: inspiration.

Once the great outsiders who came to define a whole new spirit of alternative American rock, they have struggled to maintain their edge as stadium conquering multi-millionaire superstars. The truth is they have seemed adrift for a very long time, possibly since the departure of drummer (and fellow songwriter) Bill Berry in 1997. There has been a decade of reviews proclaiming each new album a return to form, part of the problem being that they never really lost form, everything they did was touched by genius, yet there was still a sense that they were chasing some mysterious magic that used to come effortlessly.

Here is my favourite performance from REM, 'Everybody Hurts' live from Live 8. The audience participation is amazing.

JLS - Take A Chance On Me

Here is JLS's new single 'Take A Chance On Me'. I like it, even if it is a bit Bruno Mars-esque.

Perfect Coldplay Concert Set List

I have been listening to Coldplay alot lately and it got me thinking as to what I would like to hear from a concert from them. They have such a stage presence that makes an audience go mental when they hear the opening lines from 'Clocks' or 'Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall'. I have played around with the set list and created something different using songs from all their albums with lots of hits and lots of album tracks.
  1. The Scientist (extended to last 10 minutes with audience participation)
  2. Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall
  3. Paradise
  4. Lost!
  5. Violet Hill
  6. Yellow
  7. In My Place
  8. Lhuna
  9. Don’t Panic
  10. Talk
  11. Clocks
  12. God Put A Smile Upon Your Face
  13. Mylo Xyloto/Hurts Like Heaven
  14. Major Minus
  15. What If
  16. Strawberry Swing
  17. The Hardest Part
  18. Fix You
  19. ENCORE
  20. Life In Technicolor II
  21. Viva La Vida
  22. Speed Of Sound
  23. Trouble

Celine Dion On GMA

Here is Celine Dion on Good Morning America talking about her new Las Vegas show and her new television show '3 Boys And A New Show' which looks at her personal home life and preparing for her amazing new Vegas concerts. I can't wait.

Jennifer Lopez - Papi - Music Video

Here is Jennifer Lopez's new single 'Papi'. I loved this song as soon as I heard it on her new album 'Love?'. However this video is stupid and does the song no justice whatsoever. While I like the group dance towards the end it is a complete rip off of Michael Jackson. I love Jennifer Lopez but this is a shame because this song could have been huge and had a great music video. It would have been better to have a simular video to 'I'm Into You', which also included a brief moment of 'Papi' in the dance break.

Tony Bennett & Amy Winehouse - Body And Soul

Here is Amy Winehouse's first posthumous release, 'Body And Soul' with Tony Bennett. Her voice sounds amazing on this song and the song itself has lovely lyrics. I rarely agree with releasing an artists work after they die but I think this is a lovely tribute to an amazing talent.

The Saturdays - All Fired Up & Past Hits

I was making a Saturdays greatest hits album and I forgot how many hits they have had. So here is their new single and all their past hits for you to watch and remember their hits if you forgot also. My favourites are 'Missing You' and 'Forever Is Over'.

House - Season 8 Promo

Cover Versions Week: Day 7 - Amy Winehouse 'Valerie'

Here is a brilliant performance of the hit song 'Valerie' by Amy Winehouse, originally by The Zutons.

Saturday, 17 September 2011

Cover Versions Week: Day 6 - Celine Dion 'Open Arms'

Here is a song not may have heard covered by Celine Dion. In the past its been covered by the likes of Mariah Carey and Barry Manilow and its original artist Journey. However Celine's version is flawless. Her voice is at a point now where she litterally does not have to try, the notes just pour out of her on a song with huge notes like this one. The video is an exclusive performance from her latest Las Vegas Show.

I Don't Know How She Does It - Trailer

This film looks really good. Starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Pierce Brosnan, Greg Kinnear and Kelsey Grammer.

Sex And The City: The Carrie Diaries

Carrie Bradshaw is coming back to the small screen but 20 years younger, in high school and with no familiar friends. According to industry reports in the US, the same network that produces teen drama Gossip Girl, has purchased the rights to the book, The Carrie Diaries, and plans to create a series which may be coming to TV in less than a year.

The Carrie Diaries was written by the original author of Sex and The City, Candace Bushnell, and chronicles the trials and tribulations of Carrie through her teenage years. While Carrie is the star of the book, the characters of Charlotte and Miranda do not exist. Samantha makes a fleeting appearance but the central characters include Donna LaDonna as the most popular girl in school, Carrie's younger sisters Missy and Dorrit and her teenage Mr Big-type love interest Sebastian Kydd.

Fans of Sex and The City, which spanned six seasons and two movies, will notice some discrepancies within the novel. In the season four episode "A Vogue Idea", Carrie, who rarely discussed her family, mentioned that her father left her and her mother when she was a child. "You think it's as simple as my dad walked out therefore I'll always be screwed up about men?" she asked Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha over brunch. However in the book, Mr Bradshaw dotes on his eldest daughter.

The Carrie Diaries was published last year and was followed up by the release of Summer In The City in April, which follows Carrie's first move to the Big Apple as she plans to become a playwright. Bushnell has since signed a four-book deal and is now working on two more instalments.

The new TV series will be created by Gossip Girl producers Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwatz. Reports also suggest that original Sex and The City co-producer and writer Amy B. Harris will work with Bushnell to adapt the story to the small screen. Sex and The City creator Michael Patrick King wants nothing to do with the proposed prequel. "My Carrie Bradshaw started at 33, and I took her to 43. I didn't even want to know who Carrie Bradshaw's parents were because I thought she only existed in Manhattan," he said recently at the Television Critics Association's conference in Beverly Hills. "So for me, the idea of going backwards and making her less evolved is something that I don't imagine doing," he added.

It is not known who will play a young Carrie, but the original played by Sarah Jessica Parker has been cryptically coy about the franchise that turned her into a fashion and pop cultural icon. "To my knowledge there has been no conversation about Sex and the City 3 or a television series about the women at this particular moment in their lives nor has there been a conversation about a prequel," she told Sky News.

"But that is not to suggest that, there might not be a Sex and The City 3 in the future, who knows?"

Cover Versions Week: Day 5 - George Michael 'Somebody To Love'

Queen wrote some amazing songs, however the version of thier song 'Somebody To Love' performed by George Michael at the Freddy Mercury Tribute remains one of my favourite cover versions and live performances.

Desperate Housewives - Final Season Premiere

The final ever season of Desperate Housewives begins 25th September and will finish forever next May. The final episode is said to include a jump into the future in order to see what happened to each character and stop any further episodes being made. Katherine Mayfair is said to return to finish her character's storyline and also that the main mystery for the season will be about the Young family and reveal more about Paul, Mary-Alice and thier son Zack.

Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga - The Lady Is A Tramp

Here is the new track that people have been waiting for. Lady Gaga's duet with Tony Bennett from his new album 'Duets II'. While Gaga is good at what she does normally, personally I think she ruins this song. Her voice is too annoying and she talks all over the track instead of just singing one of the most famous songs in history.

James Blunt - Dangerous

Here is James Blunt's new single 'Dangerous' live from this weeks Radio 2 concert. As great as the performance is vocally, James Blunt seems suddenly very erratic lately, which I don't remember him being years ago. Seems a bit out of his face on drugs maybe, but that said its a great performance of a good new single.

Coldplay - Every Tear Drop Is A Waterfall

I am really enjoying this song at the moment. I think the 'Mylo Xyloto' era could be even bigger than the 'Viva La Vida' era for Coldplay.

Cover Versions Week: Day 4 - Michael Jackson 'Smile'

Cover versions from Michael Jackson are very rare. However on his 'History' album he featured Charlie Chaplin's 'Smile'.

Cher Defends Son Chaz On Ellen

Cher made a surprise call during her son Chaz Bono's appearance on Ellen DeGeneres's talk show (airing today) to blast the transphobic haters who've complained about his appearance on Dancing With the Stars.

"If you got that excess time and that amount of hostility, I'm not so sure that I can say anything to you that would make you change your feelings," Cher says. "Those are feelings of such hostility and fear I don't know that I would have any magic words to make you feel more comfortable and to soothe you into not being terrified of my child dancing on Dancing With the Fucking Stars."

The studio audience applauds wildly after Cher's comment. DeGeneres adds that it's key for the conservative protesters to remember that Bono is someone's child. "What if someone attacked your child? Try to put yourself in someone else's shoes."

Cher then asks Bono about his dancing. "My first dance is pretty good now. The cha-cha," Bono says. "The quickstep gives me nightmares, but I'm starting to feel pretty confident. We did it for some of the other people on the show today and they seem to really like it."

Cher comments, "I got to tell you something, Da (the family nickname for Bono). You doing this dance is about as scary as you making the change." Cher, Bono, and DeGeneres all laugh as the audience again erupts into applause.

Cover Versions Week: Day 3 - Simply Red 'You Make Me Feel Brand New'

Day 3 and today is a song originally sung by The Stylistics called 'You Make Me Feel Brand New'. The version which is my favourite is Simply Red's cover from thier album 'Home'.

Avatar 2 & 3 - Update

Avatar 2 and 3 have been confirmed and given 2014 and 2015 release dates. Avatar 2 will see the more underwater action as it explores the oceans of Pandora, while Avatar 3 may explore whole new planets as well as even more of Pandora. In the past James Cameron's sequels have been even better than his original masterpieces, such as 'Terminator 2: Judgment Day' and 'Aliens'. So I am really looking forward to these movies and hope that they are also long movies like the first.

Lionel Richie ill - Gary Barlow Fills In

Lionel Richie has halted recording of his new album and pulled out of a star-studded concert in London after falling ill. The 'Dancing on the Ceiling' hitmaker was due to headline BBC Radio 2′s Live In Hyde Park gig on Sept. 11, alongside other stars including Lenny Kravitz and Will Young.
But Richie has been battling illness, and has decided to postpone his recording sessions and drop out of the line-up for the show in order to recover.

BBC Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans told listeners of his morning show on Thursday:
“Due to illness, Lionel Richie will not be able to perform at Hyde Park as billed.
“As much as Lionel is distressed at cancelling this show for his fans and Radio 2, he would never allow himself to give less than 100 per cent excellence in performance.
“We talked to him in America yesterday, he said, ‘I’m sorry that I wont be able to make the concert on Sunday’. He was recording his new album, that’s also had to stop as well.”
In a statement, Richie adds, “The show has a fantastic line up and I was looking forward to joining the other artists on what promises to be a fabulous day of entertainment. To all the fans that bought tickets I promise to be back very soon and make up for it with something very special.”When Lionel Richie cancelled at the last minute due to illness, most music fans agreed Gary Barlow was not a bad replacement. Even with Take That hits Greatest Day, Patience, A Million Love Songs and Back For Good at his disposal, he still felt the need to further satisfy the crowd.

“After 20 years I’ve reached the pinnacle of my career, filling in for Lionel Richie,” grinned Gaz. “I don’t want to let down anyone who wanted to see him, so I hope you like this,” he added before launching into a perfect version of Lionel’s 1984 goldie oldie Hello.

The Full Set List Contained:

Greatest Day
Patience
Hello
A Million Love Songs
Back For Good
Rule The World
Never Forget

Cover Versions Week: Day 2 - Bette Midler 'I Think It's Gonna Rain Today'

Day 2 and today is a song originally sung by Randy Newman, 'I Think It's Gonna Rain Today'. The cover version that I love is Bette Midlers version from the amazing film 'Beaches'. This is a live version from a Benefit concert in New York.

Luke Cottingham

Musicians on Youtube come and go but some stay and make it big, like Justin Bieber and Grayson Chance. Luke Cottingham is someone who I feel is someone I have seen before they were famous. His cover versions of songs sound like they are completely new songs with his touch to them. A powerful and yet soft soulful voice alongside talented guitar playing makes for some amazing songs. Remember the name Luke Cottingham, because I think you will be hearing alot more of it. You can purchase the songs from his Youtube channel on iTunes here http://goo.gl/7SuOE

Leona Lewis - Live Lounge 2011

Leona Lewis performed for Radio 1's Live Lounge again in May. Last time she grabbed herself a number one with her cover of Snow Patrol's 'Run'. This time round she sang only 2 songs. A mashup of her single 'Better In Time' with Rihanna's 'Man Down' and Labrynth's 'Let The Sun Shine', which is lovely.

10 Years Since 9/11

Here is a song written about 9/11. The words are lovely and really makes you think how it must have felt 10 years ago by using simple words.

Well Written Songs Week: Day 7 - How Am I Supposed To Live Without You

Today's song is originally recorded by Laura Branigan in 1983. The song was recorded in 1989 by its co-writer, Michael Bolton. On the Hot 100, the song became the first number 1 single of the 1990s. This marked the second time the song had topped the U.S. AC chart. The song appears on his album Soul Provider and on Michael Bolton: Greatest Hits (1985-1995)This song is possibly one of Bolton's biggest hits and has such amazing words. This song is also best heard live to hear the brilliance of Michael Bolton's voice, so also included is a live version from 2010.

I could hardly believe it
When I heard the news today
I had to come and get it straight from you
They said you were leavin'
Someone swept you heart away
From the look upon your face I see it's true
So tell me all about it, tell me 'bout the plans you're makin'
Then tell me one thing more before I go

Tell me how am I supposed to live without you
Now that I've been lovin' you so long
How am I supposed to live without you
How am I supposed to carry on
When all that I've been livin' for is gone

I didn't come here for cryin'
Didn't come here to breakdown
It's just a dream of mine is coming to an end
An how can I blame you
When I built my world around
The hope that someday we'd be so much more than friends
And I don't wanna know the price I'm gonna pay for dreaming
When even now it's more than I can take

And I don't wanna face the price I'm gonna pay for dreaming
Now that your dream has come true

Justin Bieber - Christmas Album

Justin Bieber is making a christmas album. The 17-year-old musician has been recording tracks with many of his musical friends, including Sean Kingston and Taylor Swift! Justin tweeted to his manager, Scooter Braun, “@scooterbraun yeah we are going hard for Christmas!! #mistletoe.” It has been reported that the album will feature classics and some original songs.

Holiday music is not the only thing Justin has been working hard on. Justin told MTV earlier this summer, “I'm writing about how I feel and producing. I’ve been producing on my laptop and on my computer. I’ve been really into it and, hopefully, this next album will be huge”. “I’ve done a lot on my acoustic guitar, so it’s gonna have that vibe,” Justin added, “I’m not gonna really limit myself. I just want to make music.”

Well Written Songs Week: Day 6 - Call The Man

Day 6 and today is a song by Celine Dion and written by Andy Hill and Peter Sinfield, who also wrote Celine Dion's 'Think Twice'. It was produced by Jim Steinman who wrote Celine's previous single at the time 'It's All Coming Back To Me Now'.

Close the door
Shut the world away
All the fight's gone from this wounded heart
Across the floor
Dreams and shadows play
Like wind blown refugees

Call the man
Who deals in love beyond repair
He can heal the world
Of hearts in need of care
Shine a light ahead
When the next step is unclear
Call the man
He's needed here

I close my eyes
I remember when
Your sweet love filled this empty room
The tears I cry
Won't bring it back again
Unless the lonely star should fall

Call the man
Who deals in love beyond repair
He can heal the world
Of hearts in need of care
Shine a light ahead
When the next step is unclear
Call the man
He's needed here

Needed in the chaos and confusion
From the plains to city hall
Needed where the proud who walk the wire are set to fall

Call the man
Who deals in once upon a time
Maybe he
Can mend this broken heart of mine
Shine a light ahead
Now the future isn't clear
Call the man
He's needed here
Call the man
He's needed here

He's needed here
He's needed here
Call the man

He's needed here
Right here right now

Avril Lavigne - Wish You Were Here - Music Video

Here is Avril Lavigne's music video for her new single 'Wish You Were Here'. The song is one of my favourites from the new album 'Black Star' so I am glad it was made a single with a nice simple but effective video.

Michael Bolton - Jack Sparrow

It would seem I'm slow on the up take here, but Michael Bolton made a very funny video with The Lonley Island for Saturday Night Live a few months ago. You don't need to have seen the Pirates Of The Caribbean films to find it funny.

Frankmusik - No I.D - Music Video

Here is Frankmusik's new music video for his new single 'No I.D' featuring Colette Carr. Not what I was expecting from this songs music video but it kind of works.

When Ricky Gervais And Steve Merchant Made Karl Pilkington Watch Brokeback Mountain

Well Written Songs Week: Day 5 - Even Now

Day 5 and this is a song written by Barry Manilow, who writes amazing songs, this one is 'Even Now'.

Even Now
When there's someone else who cares
When there's someone home who's waiting just for me
Even now I think about you as I'm climbing up the stairs
And I wonder what to do so she won't see
That even now
When I know it wasn't right
And I found a better life than what we had
Even now I wakeup crying in the middle of the night
And I can't believe it still could hurt so bad

Even now when I have come so far
I wonder where you are
I wonder why it's still so hard without you
Even now when I come shining through
I swear I think of you
And how I wish you knew
Even now

Even now
When I never hear your name
And the world has changed so much since you been gone
Even now I still remember and the feeling's still the same
And the pain inside of me goes on and on
Even now

Even now when I have come so far
I wonder where you are
I wonder why it's still so hard without you
Even now when I come shining through
I swear I think of you
And God I wish you knew
Some how
Even now

'Even Now' is a 1978 song by American adult contemporary and pop music singer Barry Manilow. It is the title track from his 1978 album, and Manilow wrote the music and co-produced the track with Ron Dante. The words were written by Marty Panzer.

Released as the second single from the album, "Even Now" became a top 20 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in June 1978, peaking at #19. It became Manilow's ninth song to reach number one on the Billboard easy listening chart, spending three weeks atop the chart beginning May 27, 1978.

In his autobiography Sweet Life, Manilow said that the song was "one of my personal favorites, which never fails to move me. It reminded me of the great times I had collaborating with" Marty Panzer, with whom the singer had worked previously.

Well Written Songs Week: Day 4 - You Have Been Loved

Day 4 and today is a song by George Michael and David Austin. 'You Have Been Loved' is an amazing song written about the loss of a loved one.

She takes the back road and the lane
Past the school that has no changed
In all this time
She thinks of when the boy was young
All the battles she had won
Just to give him life

That man
She loved that man
For all his life
But now we meet to bring him flowers
And only God knows why

For what's the use in pressing pamls
When children fade in mother's arms
It's a cruel world
We've so much to loose
And what we have to learn we rarely choose

So if it's God who took her son
He cannot be the one living in her mind

Take care my love, she said
Don't think that God is dead
Take care my love, she said

You have been loved

If I was weak, forgive me
But I was terrified
You brushed my eyes with angels wings, full of love
The kind that makes devils cry

So these days
My life has changed
And I'll be fine
But she just sits and counts the hours
Searching for her crime

So what's the use of pressing palms
If you won't keep such love from harm
It's a cruel world
You've so much to prove
And heaven helps the ones who wait for you

Well I've no daughters, I've no sons
Guess I'm the only one
Living in my life

Take care my love, he said
Don't think that God is dead
Take care my love, he said

You have been loved

'You Have Been Loved' is a double A-side single by dance-pop artist George Michael. Both songs are from his 1996 album Older. The single reached #2 on the UK charts, only behind Elton John's 'Candle in the Wind' '97 charity single.

    Beetlejuice 2 Confirmed

David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith's production company KatzSmith has just signed a first-look deal with Warner Brothers, and the first thing on slate for them is the long-awaited sequel to Beetlejuice, the 1988 Tim Burton-directed hit starring Michael Keaton as the title character, with Geena Davis, Alec Baldwin and a young Winona Ryder. They want to make it clear it's not gonna be a remake, but a reboot, with "an advancement of the storyline," whatever that means.

This could be a good idea however I think it would only work if they got back all the original cast and Danny Elfman to do the soundtrack as before. However after 23 years will they all want to?

George Michael - Where I Hope You Are (Live In Herning)

Here is a very good quality audience recording of George singing a newer song of his 'Where I Hope You Are', written about his split from partner Kenny Goss. I am really hoping this is on his new album.

Well Written Songs Week: Day 3 - The Winner Takes It All

Day 3 is 'The Winner Takes It All' created by Abba in 1980.

    I don’t wanna talk
About the things we’ve gone through
    Though it’s hurting me
    Now it’s history
    I’ve played all my cards
And that’s what you’ve done too
    Nothing more to say
    No more ace to play

    The winner takes it all
    The loser standing small
    Beside the victory
    That’s her destiny

    I was in your arms
    Thinking I belonged there
    I figured it made sense
    Building me a fence
    Building me a home
    Thinking I’d be strong there
    But I was a fool
    Playing by the rules

The gods may throw a dice
Their minds as cold as ice
    And someone way down here
    Loses someone dear
    The winner takes it all
    The loser has to fall
    It’s simple and it’s plain
    Why should I complain.

But tell me does she kiss
Like I used to kiss you?
    Does it feel the same
    When she calls your name?
    Somewhere deep inside
You must know I miss you
    But what can I say
    Rules must be obeyed

    The judges will decide
    The likes of me abide
    Spectators of the show
    Always staying low
    The game is on again
    A lover or a friend
A big thing or a small
    The winner takes it all

    I don’t wanna talk
If it makes you feel sad
    And I understand
You’ve come to shake my hand
    I apologize
If it makes you feel bad
    Seeing me so tense
    No self-confidence
    But you see
    The winner takes it all
    The winner takes it all

'The Winner Takes It All', originally called 'The Story of My Life', was written by both Björn Ulvaeus & Benny Andersson, with Agnetha Fältskog singing the lead vocal. The lyrics to the song were thought to mirror the divorce between Ulvaeus and Fältskog in 1979, similar to the song 'When All Is Said and Done', which details the divorce between Anni-Frid Lyngstad and Benny Andersson.

Ulvaeus denies this, saying the basis of the song "is the experience of a divorce, but it's fiction. There wasn't a winner or a loser in our case. A lot of people think it's straight out of reality, but it's not". American critic Chuck Klosterman, who says 'The Winner Takes It All' is "(the only) pop song that examines the self-aware guilt one feels when talking to a person who has humanely obliterated your heart" finds Ulvaeus' denial hard to believe in light of the original title.
