Television Seasons Update

It seems like everything is coming to an end in the next two weeks in TV land. But it's not for good... Not yet anyway. Season's ending in the next two weeks include Desperate Housewives, House, Nurse Jackie, Grey's Anatomy and American Idol.

However American Idol is obviously set to return sometime next year after Scotty, Lauren or Haley are crowned winner on 26th May. I was very suprised to see James Durbin go home and not make it into the final 3. I pegged him for the winner or at least 2nd. I am hoping that Scotty wins and Lauren is second. Would be nice to see Scotty win and he is someone who I am actually looking forward to hearing his debut album to have official songs to hear his voice over and over.

Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy both start again in September this year. Housewives creater Marc Cherry has hinted that the show will end in 2013. In April 2011, Eva Longoria stated that there will definitely be an eighth season and hopefully a ninth. The season seven finale airs this Sunday. Grey's Anatomy has been signed on for an eighth and I am sure the show could last a ninth but after so many of the original cast having left it is a wonder if that is such a good idea, unless they could get back some of the old faces. The season seven finale airs 19th May. Another medical based show Nurse Jackie sees its season three finale on 23rd May. Season four has not been announced as of yet, however it is likely.

However House looks set to end after its eighth season run. Hugh Laurie has hinted that is all the writers have in store for him. It will be a shame to say goodbye to a really amazing programme but I am glad they are ending it on a high instead of dragging it out, even though I feel House could last forever.

Plus another great programme that is coming back for a sixth (and most likely seventh) season is Showtimes Dexter. Starting in September this year. I can't wait for everything to come out and everyone to discover Dexters secret. That is if they decide to go down that route. Here is the first official teaser trailer for season six.
