Michael Jackson Week: Day 7

Day 7: After Invincible & Post Death

This is a mixture of things that were released after Michael Jackson's death and some of my personal favourite moments from his entire career. First up is the 'One More Chance' music video. Very rare and not released until after his death, although the song itself was released years before in 2003.

And here are the three singles released from 'Michael', the first posthumous album.

And here are some of my favourite Michael Jackson moments. 'They Don't Care About Us' live from the History Tour, 'Earth Song' live from the Brit Awards 1996 and his MTV Music Video Awards performance from 1995.

Beyonce 4 - Altered Track List

So as some will know I am not a fan of the track listing on Beyonce's album '4'. The album is amazing but it feels too 'ballady' at times. So here is how I always listen to it. Although its all the same songs, it makes the world of difference. Arrange them like that in a playlist in iTunes or something and see for yourself. It gives a whole new feeling to the album.

  1. 1+1
  2. Countdown
  3. Run The World (Girls)
  4. Best Thing I Never Had
  5. Schoolin' Life
  6. I Care
  7. Party (feat. Andre 3000 & Kanye West)
  8. Lay Up Under Me
  9. Dance For You
  10. I Miss You
  11. Love On Top
  12. Rather Die Young
  13. Start Over
  14. End Of Time
  15. I Was Here

Leona Lewis - Collide - Sandy Vee Extended Mix

For those of you who are also loving Leona's new single 'Collide' here is an official extended 7 minute version for when the 4 minute version just isn't enough.

J Pearl & Shayne Ward - Must Be A Reason Why

This is Shayne Ward's new upcoming single (released 8th August) with J Pearl. The song's video is a remix instead of the album version but both are very good. Not sure why Shayne suddenly thinks he's a rapper in the video but the song is good, although try and get the album version, its a bit better. The single will be released by featured artist J Pearl, with Shayne Ward being credited as the featuring artist instead, due to Ward being dropped from his record deal by Simon Cowell, due to poor sales of the album and lead single.

Michael Jackson Week: Day 6

Day 6: Invincible Era

Here is a performance of 'Billie Jean' from Michael Jackson's 30th Anniversary in music tribute concert.

Albums In Video: Euphoria - Enrique Iglesias

I thought I would start a new feature in which I post all the music video's from an album. I've done that with all of Michael Jackson's albums and thought it would work really well with some other albums. I'm starting with Enrique Iglesias's bilingual 'Euphoria'. It is the ninth studio album Enrique. The album features guest appearances by Akon, Usher, Juan Luis Guerra, Pitbull, Nicole Scherzinger , Puerto Rican reggaeton duo Wisin and Yandel and Ludacris.

Will Young - Jealousy - Video

Here is Will Young's brand new music video for his new single 'Jealousy'.

Michael Jackson Week: Day 5

Day 5: History Era

Its unbelievable to think that in this era he released a greatest hits album, a studio album, a remix album, a world tour, 9 singles (including record breaking music videos for all), 2 double A side singles and a movie all in the space of 2 years. My favourite Michael Jackson era.

And here is some rarities. The alternate 'They Don't Care About Us' - Prison Version, Earth Song live from Munich in 1999 and Smile, which wasn't officially released as a single but still got a music video.

Prince Rotterdam Set List

On 26th July Prince performed a concert as part of his Welcome To America Euro Tour, in Rotterdam. The set list was pretty standard to what he has been performing lately but he opened with one of my favourite Prince songs 'Gold'. This was so unexpected because, to my knowledge, he hasn't performed this song since the 'Gold' era back in 1997. What made it even more amazing was that he went from the guitar driven 'Gold' into the guitar driven 'Purple Rain' another one of my favourites. Here is the full set list comprising mainly of hits and the occasional fan favourite.
  1. Gold
  2. Purple Rain
  3. Let's Go Crazy
  4. Delirious
  5. Let's Go Crazy (Reprise)
  6. 1999
  7. Little Red Corvette
  8. Take Me With U
  9. Raspberry Beret
  10. Cream
  11. Cool (Incl. Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough)
  12. Make You Feel My Love (Andy Allo & Shelby J. Lead Vox)
  13. Let's Work
  14. Sexy Dancer (Instr.)
  15. Chocolate
  16. U Got The Look
  17. Kiss
  18. If I Was Your Girlfriend (Incl. One Nation Under A Groove)
  19. Controversy (Incl. Housequake Chants)
  20. The Bird

Lady Gaga Announces Next Single

Lady Gaga has finally revealed that 'Yoü And I' is the next single from her album 'Born This Way'. Fans speculated for weeks what the next single would be, 'Highway Unicorn (Road To Love)' and 'Scheiße' at the top of the list. However this is a great song and one of my favourites from the album. The music video premieres soon and here is a shot from the making of it.

Rihanna Announces Next Single

Rihanna has announced yet another single from her amazing album 'Loud'. After the sucess of 'Only Girl (In The World)', 'What's My Name', 'S&M', California King Bed' and 'Man Down', Rihanna has now announced that 'Cheers (Drink To That)' is the next new single. No doubt the music video will be amazing and will be out soon. Here is the official single artwork.

Amy Winehouse

Here is all of Amy Winehouse's music video's. Her passing is such a shame and such a loss to music. For those who have watched or heard these songs in the last few days, watch them again and enjoy them. For those who haven't, watch and remember how amazing she was.

Michael Jackson Week: Day 2

Day 2: Thriller Era

The post wouldn't be complete without Michael's Motown Forever performance of Billie Jean.

Well Written Songs: Even Now

Even Now
Marty Panzer 1978

Even Now
When there's someone else who cares
When there's someone home who's waiting just for me
Even now I think about you as I'm climbing up the stairs
And I wonder what to do so she won't see
That even now
When I know it wasn't right
And I found a better life than what we had
Even now I wakeup crying in the middle of the night
And I can't believe it still could hurt so bad

Even now when I have come so far
I wonder where you are
I wonder why it's still so hard without you
Even now when I come shining through
I swear I think of you
And how I wish you knew
Even now

Even now
When I never hear your name
And the world has changed so much since you been gone
Even now I still remember and the feeling's still the same
And the pain inside of me goes on and on
Even now

Even now when I have come so far
I wonder where you are
I wonder why it's still so hard without you
Even now when I come shining through
I swear I think of you
And God I wish you knew
Some how
Even now

'Even Now' is a 1978 song by American adult contemporary and pop music singer Barry Manilow. It is the title track from his 1978 album, and Manilow wrote the music and co-produced the track with Ron Dante. The words were written by Marty Panzer.

Released as the second single from the album, 'Even Now' became a top 20 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in June 1978, peaking at number 19. It became Manilow's ninth song to reach number one on the Billboard easy listening chart, spending three weeks atop the chart beginning May 27, 1978.

In his autobiography Sweet Life, Manilow said that the song was 'one of my personal favorites, which never fails to move me. It reminded me of the great times I had collaborating with Marty Panzer', with whom the singer had worked previously.
